✓Application Requirements - while each application is reviewed on an individual basis, CYC prioritizes applicants with the qualifications listed below:
• Are a first-generation college student
• Have a GPA of 3.3 or better
• Mostly A's and B's (8th grade applicants)
• Live in a household with an income less than $60,000 or demonstrate financial need

How Do I Apply?
✓Step 1: Determine Your Campus Using The Map:
CYC now has two sites: East Campus (6035 Florence Ave. Charlotte, NC 28212) and Southwest Campus (4200 Sandy Porter Rd. Charlotte, NC 28273). The campus a CYC Fellow attends is determined by which campus they live closer to!
Take a look at the Service Map below to determine which of CYC's campuses is closer to your home address (based on ZIP code).
✓Step 2: Submit An Online Application
Once you've determined which campus you should apply to, click below to start your application!
✓ NOTE: You cannot save your application once you start. Once you begin, please keep your tab open or complete the application in one setting.
✓NOTE: Please use a personal email address when completing the application. Do not use a CMS email address.
✓NOTE: Please make sure that essay responses are authentic and your own. Essays written by parents or copied from ChatGPT are not accepted.
✓Step 3: Submit required documents to complete your application
Applicants are required to submit the following documents to complete their application:
1. Copy of your most recent transcript
✓ 9th, 10th, & 11th-Grade applicants
2. Copy of your parent/guardians 2024 1040 tax form

✓Step 4: Application Review
✓In the final step, our team will thoroughly review your application. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview.

ARE YOU A CURRENT 8th-GRADER STARTING HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR?
ALL INCOMING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO APPLY USING OUR RISING 9th GRADE APPLICATION BELOW!
Rising 9th-Graders in CYC also gain access to FutureFellows, which is a dynamic two-week summer program for incoming high school Fellows that blends academic enrichment with career exploration. FutureFellows is designed to boost critical thinking, reading, writing, and problem-solving skills that will support Fellows in being top achievers as they transition into their high school core courses.
All rising 9th graders who are admitted to CYC are eligible to participate. FutureFellows spots are limited, so in your application please indicate you're interested in participating.
